Happened after getting this "CTF Loader is having a problem" message (Apparently something to do with MS Office. I think it went away after I did a system restore.). http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=118691 but, Programs such as Winamp, Paint Shop Pro 8, FLV Player or MS Excel on my laptop would shut down at random times. Checked, but no virus found. Anyone here having this problem? Thanks, TF PS: Below is a screen shot of the error message (Will post another if it happens again.).
Hmm.. Could be a damaged or missing DLL... Since it has something to do with the Alternative Input feature, try uninstalling that and reinstalling it?
So, that CTF loader thing could also affect other programs? Man, I don't want PowerPoint to shut down in the middle of a presentation. Will try that (Sorry if I sound noob-ish, but I was just wondering if you meant disable & then re enabling the Alt Input, by saying "uninstalling & reinstalling it"). Thanks, TF
Here's a screenshot of what I've got after running a virus scan. I'm not sure if I should go ahead and click on wipe or heal object (I don't want my laptop to screw up.). UPDATE: Can't select heal files! Damn! UPDATE #2: Problem solved. Please lock thread.
LOL! You always make that promise, but still doing it. DYKT: It's better to tell us the truth and take it like a man?
Seriously, I really am going to stop looking at it. Sick of all those spywares & viruses! Now, I have a bigger problem. My DVD-Rom drive is totally useless now. Apparently, the driver's corrupted and I can't find it on the Vaio Recovery utility. Uninstalled the device & it's now gone!!! btw, here's the make & model of the drive: Matsuhita UJ-841D. Laptop: Sony Vaio VGN-FE15GP Searched on Google & I got a useless french site. Know any other way to get the driver? Thanks, TF
Been there, done that. Still doesn't work. Damn *cough* *cough* sites! Suspecting that the virus is not removed (Or not completely removed.), as the Vaio Control Center thing could not load up (Losing the volume indicator & the function keys!) Looks like my only hope now is to use the Vaio Recovery Tool.
Yeap. your best bet is to wipe it all and reset it all back to factory settings. too many infections already. BTW, don;t you have a virusscanner running? how come kena so badly one?
You have broadband right? Do you know using broadband can lessen virus infection? Just go bt for the videos, safer that way. I don't do that anymore though, running out of hdd space. Now I just visit forums.
