Scenario: Friend's PC in malaysia Wants to share the printer on XP machine to W7 machine. I gave instructions over windows messenger to set it up. But right now, W7 PC sees the XP pc in Network. In W7 But when you double click the XP pc, it ask for username and password. There's none setup on the XP pc Any suggestions on what to look for? I hate XP
I know that for remote XP access you must either have username/password OR override in security settings and then can leave PW blank. Perhaps same for printers? Check under admin tools / local security settings.
Will try to look up on that. I did it with Virtual Machine with no problems. But when I told my friend, they had the password thing popup when trying to connect to the XP pc.
