Sigh.. I have another weird problem. Skype won't minimize to the tray in Windows 7. It minimizes to the taskbar instead. :wall:

I tried a few methods to no avail. No matter what I set Skype or Windows 7 tray settings to, Skype insists on minimizing to the taskbar.

The same Skype version have no problem minimizing to the tray in another notebook. So I'm stumped... :wall:

HEhe... I had to install Skype yesterday to chat with someone. I dont know any options to configure it.

I've tried to minimize and it goes to taskbar, not tray. Im with Win7 as well.

It is the same for Windows Live Messenger. I still have trouble adapting to the new style taskbar. Now I'm using hybrid mode.

Yeah run the exe under Vista compatibility mode would solve it.

    isn't TOOL/OPTIONS/ADVANCED/Advanced settings
"keep skype in the taskbar while I'm signed in", unchecked?

and then "close" Skype: it goes in the sys tray

seems to work for me under seven :)

Funny, I don't have this option. I'm using Skype 4.2.0.155

Hmm.. You are using a newer version. Maybe they added that for Windows 7.

I will try updating to the newer version and see if that works.
