I did last time but not this year. Ryan's awake and fussy. Argghhh... But I've been turning off unnecessary lights as far back as I can remember, so I guess it's okay to "skip" this one. What's more important than turning off the lights for one hour is to be proactive in conserving electricity every day. That's what I try to do. But it won't hurt to turn off the lights for one hour today!
Yeah, I think it's more for publicity and awareness. In the end it makes a hell of a lot more difference if you put in consistent effort rather than turning off your lights for one symbolic hour
The light in my room is seldom on, unless I can't find something in the dark, then I'll on it, found, then off again. The light from my monitor is enough for me. I live in the dark and love every minute of it...
What's worse is that while many malls and shops turned off the lights, they lit up hundreds of candles! There was also a whole bunch of folks lighting up candles. Possibly thousands of candles were burned off during Earth hour. Sure, we saved a few hundred megawatts of power for that one hour, but in return, we burned off a few hundred or a few thousand candles. That really contradicts what Earth hour is supposed to be - conservation, not waste.
i turn off all light went going out an when asleep .. maybe i shud turn off the aquarium lights ... lol
those who participated in this event clearly has no IQ at all.. it's like.. a christian watches porn for the entire year, but on aug 31, he asks god for forgiveness. oh yeah, for just an hour only la! I agree on the creating awareness part. but still, all aware but none acts on it, isn't it L-P-P-L!?????
Just like Toyota Prius driver. "oh, i drive a prius, its greener towards the environment" There was a research saying that prius drivers actually drive more than regular driver.
