Today, we were invited to the Intel Pentium media briefing held by Intel Malaysia.

Intel is positioning the Intel Pentium as the processor of choice for convertible and 2-in-1 devices. To avoid confusing the market with Core M processors, Pentium-based devices will be priced around RM 1,600 (~US$ 500) while Core M devices will be priced much higher.

Incidentally, Broadwell-based Core i7 and Core i5 processors will debut sometime around February-March of 2015.

    The lower-end Broadwell-based Pentiums will only be released in late Q1, early Q2 2015 - around June-July 2015.
