    I bought a high cfm Newegg.com - bgears b-Blaster 120 120mm Case Fan
for rear of my storm enforcer now I want to put a fan controller
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118217
the specs say 11v does that mean it wont operate as fast as 12v
Output Voltage: 5V - 11V +/- 2% Allowable Power: 6W or lower Fan controller for adjusting the fan speed of a single fan according to user preference.
also Do not use FAN MATE 2 with fans that have a start up voltage of more than 5V. Please check the start up voltage in the specifications of the fan.
how do I find out if this fan will work?:wall:

There's no way to know unless there's a review somewhere which test the operating voltage range. Just make sure you don't go down to minimum voltage if you are worried. Or you can try how the fan works with the Fan Mate 2. Usually most fans have problem starting at low voltage, but they are able to work at 5V AFTER the fan starts spinning.

I believe most rheostat based fan control will not allow full voltage. This actually almost identical to the Fanmate, probably made by the same factory.
