Well, this is supposed to be a much higher quality lens. And so far, it's proven to be better than both Nikkor and Canon 35mm f1.4. Ya. I'm even surprising myself with that statement. Looks like the cheapest price in HK is about RM500 less. But warranty for Sigma isn't international... Hmmm

Also all the new Sigmas will supposedly have USB dock support for custom calibration and firmware update stuff.

    Oh, I didn't know Sigma has 35 1.4. I thought it was the previous 30 1.4 for APS-C.

Sigma 50 1.4 may not be as good, but it is also one of the best in its class, other than 50 1.2L which is in a different league.

I heard that HK is still the best place to buy camera lenses. But going all the way there just to buy is a bit iffy if the lens is popular. They may not have stock.

I was on a vacation last year and I bought that Sigma. Wasn't easy, but I found a pretty good deal.

It's pretty awesome. :thumb: Had used an X100 before and the X100S is just blazing fast in AF. Just that I wished the built-in 23mm lens was as sharp as the 35mm XF lens.

By the way, nice shots you posted so far. Keep 'em coming!

Wow. The 100s! Damn. I'm still thinking whether I should sell off my X100 for the X100s or get the Sigma 35mm 1.4 and revive my D300. :p

But I think 35mm on a AF-C is not very good focal length, like tha 50mm on FF.

Well, that depends if you are a 35mm person or a 50mm person.

Depends how much you need the X100S's advantages - significantly faster AF speed, superior low-light performance (revised sensor) and better image quality (removal of OLPF).

35mm on your D300 would be pretty limited to certain portrait angles and very good product shot angles (which is why I need the 35mm at least now for my X-E1 until I no longer shoot products).

Yeah, a 23mm (35mm equivalent in FF) is a more everyday-kind of focal length for APS-C (1.5x crop factor) sensors. :thumb:

Sometimes we just need it all. :wicked:

Some nice, smooth rendering from the X100s' 23/2 lens:
