    Hmm.

Aight. I'll try to take a pic with me trying to hold that stretch (a DSLR is kinda heavy especially trying to hold a stretch lol).

But here is the tab (intro to In My Darkest Hour - Megadeth):
    e|-----------0--------------0------|
    B|---------0---0----------0---0----|
    G|-------7-------7------7----------|
    D|-----5--------------5------------|
    A|---9--------------9--------------|
    E|-0-------------------------------|

    Mmmm. Arpeggio... :D

It is probably easy but I am still a nub... :p

Hee hee will post one back later after you do and compare.

On the Floyd thing the unwound strings I really can't see a difference doing it either way might be worth trying but the wound strings I would not do the other way.

Hmm will keep that in mind bro.

As always thanks for the advice... :thumb:

Your experience will always have ready ears (or eyes) in this thread lol.

Here's me 'trying' to do the stretch. I'm getting a bit better but with my hands out like that, I can't really have enough pressure to push down on the strings. :?

EDIT: Holy crap huge res LOL!

EDIT2: I need to clean my fretboard... :p

Hmm I can manage that as well. I guess I use my thumb as a pivot for more strength?

Yes your thumb position is the key. If your position is right you should feel no pressure in your wrist or across your knuckles. It should feel like a light squeeze on a baseball glove lol ;)

Exams almost ended for me. Time to grind my brains out to read up some more pre-amp stages so that I can make good lickin' distortion pedals... for almost free! :)

I just almost finished Scarlatti's Sonata L 79. It is a very uplifting piece. Only some simple scales (G major) and triplets all over. But I hate to downtune the 5th string and the 6th string to G and D. Anyway, it is a sweet harpsichord music! Meanwhile, while in a normal tuning, I'll be playing Sonata K208/L238 - it's in A Major and also a very soothing piece to listen! :D

And I've seen the rest of the Domenico Scarlatti's sonatas guitar transcription - they aren't easy! On the piano/harpsichord, they will be just like easy, but certainly NOT on the guitar. :D

Dave bro, here's one for ya. From Megadeth's In My Darkest Hour.

    Pre-chorus:

    Guitars 1 & 2
    |-----------------|-------------------------|
    |-----------------|-------------------------|
    |-----------------|-------------------------| x2
    |-2-------2-----4-|-5-------5---4-2h4p2p0---|
    |-2-------2-----2-|-3-----3---3-----------4-|
    |-0-0-0-0-0-0-0---|---0-0-------------------|
    pm..... ... ...... ..

    |-----------------|-----------------------|-----------------------|
    |-----------------|-----------------------|-----------------------|
    |-2-------2-------|---------4---2-0h2p0---|-2-------4---2-0h2p0---|
    |-2-------2-------|-4-------------------4-|-2-------------------4-|
    |-0-0-0-0-0-0-3-0-|-2-0-0-2---0-----------|-0-0-0-0---0-----------|
    |-----------------|-----------------------|-----------------------|
    pm..... ..... ..... .. ..... ..

If you listen to the song, the 2h4p2p0 part first happens at 1:50-2:00 and goes on for a bit after that.

I am having trouble timing that properly. I might be going a bit slow but IDK.

    Here's a youtube.
YouTube - Megadeth - Rude Awakening - In My Darkest Hour

    1:15 to 1:30.

But on a more positive note, I got the intro down thanks to the pic you posted a few pages back. :thumb:

    Intro:

    Guitar 3
    |-----------0-----|---------0-------|-----------------|-----------------|
    |---------0---0---|-------0---0-----|-----------------|-----------------|
    |-------7-------7-|-----7-----------|------rest-------|------rest-------|
    |-----5-----------|---5-------------|-----------------|-----------------|
    |---9-------------|-9---------------|-----------------|-----------------|
    |-0---------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|

And oddly, it was a lot easier to play on the Dean Dave Mustaine Signature VMNT1 that I tried out last night.... :p

Hmmm on the latter post em up I love a challenge

That section to me almost sounds like it uses a 5/4 time signature although you told me your tab indicated it was 4/4. There is a lot of syncopation in this tune and use of grace notes. That is where you hear a lick lead in or lag after the beat. Great tune

I am gonna try and record this here and help out slow it down maybe to a metronome ...

    LOL! Nice! :p

Yeah, I am hell bent on making this my first full song.

This is my favorite Megadeth song (that and A Toute Le Monde - which I want to make my second song lol).

Still working hard on this one. Want to get faster (and I'm playing decent I guess).
