Most have LCD panels now. But this one is probably the prettiest at this price range. :D

I'd usually just buy them off amazon especially when it's sale season.

I thought they are quite common at places like lowyat?

I dunno, but most retail shops don't stock anything more than 64GB -- have to order. And this one took over 1+ weeks to arrive.

M2 sata solder joints, no connector for this version with quad-core.

Sloppy job under the hard disk area. ribbon cable is flipped an extra rotation. speaker cable that routes around the hard disk was too tight.

Yeah, most shops stock 32 / 64 GB cards.

Latest toy for the home. Considering the price I paid for it which is about 45+SGD (including shipping costs which was about 20% of the item), it's really value for money.

The iOS and android app is pretty good too. You can reverse back into time and view the recorded video when motion is detected. It also supports IR which makes it pretty excellent in the night too. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1450610436.214199.jpg . It also supports motion alert detections and would sent alerts to the app.

Pretty good in general. Streaming over mobile is has also been quite a good experience on both 3G and LTE/4G network.

Bought mine from Taobao, bulked ordered along with other stuffs with my colleague here. Shipped all the stuff together and we shared the shipping cost. Essentially shipping was about 20% extra to the base cost, not too bad considering it's bloody cheap to begin with.

The only downside, it's meant for the China market so you have to figure out the setting up by yourself a little if you don't understand Mandarin. The camera speaks through the the setup process in Mandarin. And while the app has English as a choice, not everything is translated, i.e. the notification alert text.

@zy: that's why MS must build their own hardware. it's brand and quality like this that is giving PC a really bad name!

Unfortunately, I would have to agree with you. But if Microsoft were to introduce it, they will have a hard time to compete with "budget" laptops too.

I actually really dislike MSFT hardware for the most part. I do think my Surface Pro 3 is decent though.

But when HP/Dell is involved, I typically adjust my expectations... :p

Well, I don't even know what to buy if I were to buy a new laptop today. None of the brands are truly flawless. MB with Windows is close, but I can't afford it. :haha:
