2nd SATURDAY's FREE PRACTICE RESULTS: 1 Kimi Räikkönen McLaren-Mercedes 1:20.916 2 Juan Pablo Montoya McLaren-Mercedes 1:21.318 3 Takuma Sato BAR-Honda 1:21.399 4 Fernando Alonso Renault 1:21.548 5 Jarno Trulli Toyota 1:21.884 6 Giancarlo Fisichella Renault 1:21.951 7 Mark Webber Williams-BMW 1:22.066 8 David Coulthard Red Bull Racing 1:22.291 9 Christian Klien Red Bull Racing 1:22.345 10 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 1:22.395 11 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1:22.437 12 Jenson Button BAR-Honda 1:22.558 13 Jacques Villeneuve Sauber-Petronas 1:22.701 14 Ralf Schumacher Toyota 1:22.710 15 Antonio Pizzonia Williams-BMW 1:22.823 16 Felipe Massa Sauber-Petronas 1:23.389 17 Tiago Monteiro Jordan-Toyota 1:23.472 18 Robert Doornbos Minardi-Cosworth 1:23.676 19 Christijan Albers Minardi-Cosworth 1:24.104 20 Narain Karthikeyan Jordan-Toyota 1:24.772 Exactly CHAI...never under 1:22 so far...but he is slowly improving...hahahahaha....maybe until next season he will be under 1:22 afterall... So as you may see here in this post...its an old story...Mclaren still nr.1...and all the others way behind (althogh my opinion here is that Kimi's result was again with empty fuel tank...just to make chiefs at Mercedes happy...to be on top place...) But if this shows the real performance of each team...then Ferrari is in BIG trouble again (which it is already too much)...cause to see Red Bull in front of Ferrari...that sux very much! My opinion is....that if MS will be VERY LUCKY...he might get somewhere around 5-8th place in qualifying... And tomorrow...only if it rains...he might score better...otherwise it will be big disaster - even bigger if you know that he should at least score better than Alonso to be still "POTENTIALLY" in the game for Drivers Championship (which is already lost long time ago, but at least not completely - until tomorrow if he will be behind Alonso). Cya soon...
QUALIFYING RESULTS MONZA 2005 : 1 Kimi Räikkönen McLaren-Mercedes 1:20.878 +10 PLACES BECAUSE OF BLOWN/CHANGED ENGINE! 2 Juan Pablo Montoya McLaren-Mercedes 1:21.054 3 Fernando Alonso Renault 1:21.319 4 Jenson Button BAR-Honda 1:21.369 5 Takuma Sato BAR-Honda 1:21.477 6 Jarno Trulli Toyota 1:21.640 7 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 1:21.721 8 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1:21.962 9 Giancarlo Fisichella Renault 1:22.068 10 Ralf Schumacher Toyota 1:22.266 11 David Coulthard Red Bull Racing 1:22.304 12 Jacques Villeneuve Sauber-Petronas 1:22.356 13 Christian Klien Red Bull Racing 1:22.532 14 Mark Webber Williams-BMW 1:22.560 15 Felipe Massa Sauber-Petronas 1:23.060 16 Antonio Pizzonia Williams-BMW 1:23.291 17 Tiago Monteiro Jordan-Toyota 1:24.666 18 Robert Doornbos Minardi-Cosworth 1:24.904 19 Narain Karthikeyan Jordan-Toyota 1:25.859 20 Christijan Albers Minardi-Cosworth 1:26.964 So 6th place for MS...not that bad afterall... And look at Kimi now...did that crazy running on free practices paid off? NO! Cause blown engine will put him on 11th place! (although I would prefer to see him on top place - cause in case something happens to Montoya, Alonso will again have top place in his hands... ). But...tomorrow is new day...so we'll see what comes out of all this mess...
MONZA 2005 RACE RESULTS : 1 Juan Pablo Montoya McLaren-Mercedes Winner 2 Fernando Alonso Renault +2.4 secs 3 Giancarlo Fisichella Renault +17.9 secs 4 Kimi Räikkönen McLaren-Mercedes +22.7 secs 5 Jarno Trulli Toyota +33.7 secs 6 Ralf Schumacher Toyota +43.9 secs 7 Antonio Pizzonia Williams-BMW +44.6 secs 8 Jenson Button BAR-Honda +63.6 secs 9 Felipe Massa Sauber-Petronas +75.4 secs 10 Michael Schumacher Ferrari +96.0 secs 11 Jacques Villeneuve Sauber-Petronas +1 Lap 12 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari +1 Lap 13 Christian Klien Red Bull Racing +1 Lap 14 Mark Webber Williams-BMW +1 Lap 15 David Coulthard Red Bull Racing +1 Lap 16 Takuma Sato BAR-Honda +1 Lap 17 Tiago Monteiro Jordan-Toyota +2 Lap 18 Robert Doornbos Minardi-Cosworth +2 Lap 19 Christijan Albers Minardi-Cosworth +2 Lap 20 Narain Karthikeyan Jordan-Toyota +3 Lap So nothing new again...its just nice to see McLaren-Montoya at the top place...although Kimi would won for sure if he didnt have that tyre problem...and about Renault...lucky lucky again - thats all I can say... My opinion is...that McLaren will win Constructors championship...and Alonso will win Drivers championship (cause he is just too god dam* lucky this year - and some miracle would be needed for Kimi to take top spot at the end)....
Well, maybe Alonso will have some deadly accident .. Ok ok, that's nothing we should wish for (I have to say that, otherwise .. ^^).
Yes that would be one of the options Bestia(ry)....but we dont really want to see that to happen do we? Nahhhhhhh...let them compete fair...and who is better (or more lucky)...he shall win at the end... But even if we look at worst case scenario...that Alonso wouldnt score even a single point more...Kimi would still need to work VERY HARD to win the championship! And with such bad luck as lately...that would be very hard to acchieve... Let wait and see...I dont really care...cause our (Ferrari) championship is over for this year)...BUTTT...next year we'll be beack on top for sure...cause Montezemollo wont sleep (and neither would entire Ferrari team this winter), before they get back to top place where they belong...
There's a limit "You have to be good to be lucky", but Alonso has way passed that. This has got to be the most "am kong" (can someone translate for me?) season I know, other than Alain Prost era in the old Renault during the early 80s where he kept retiring from the lead.
Of course not. But like Chai said, too much luck tastes fishy. Dun get me wrong, I dun say Alonso is a bad driver and only cuz of his luck he's able to get the WC but when there's overall more luck than effective performance .. it feels somehow "wrong". Hungary .. no extra luck AND usual performance .. 11th.
Exactly....he is too lucky...I bet if all others would drive same car...and have same luck....he would always be somewhere in the middle of a row...nothing special...I also dont say that he is a bad driver...but with his luck this year(and same car)...even Karthikeyan could win WC! I would prefer to see that Kimi wins the WC....but like I said...with his "luck" he just cant compete with Alonso...but if only real racing knowledge would count....he would have WC already secured a way back (that is if MS wouldnt drive...cause otherwise...i.e...if MS drove Renault car this year(and with Alonso's luck)....he would be WC somewhere around the middle of season for sure!) But who cares...sometimes even luck counts...so let him win this year....but next year he surely wont....and the question is even when/if again....
A1GP = Bright future... Maybe they could have more horsepower....but ok...maybe future will bring that too... Looking forward to 25th Sept.2005!
Nah...A1GP is too 'identical' for my liking, that's what made F1 so special. They just need some proper rules...
i would like to know where Alonso can get luck like that i sure could use some of it myself. anyway it all goes to show that McLaren has yet to sort out it's reliability issues and to finish first, first you have to finish. i would say he's driven very well for the year Alonso. Kimi has been absolutely stunning on pace with the mclaren in-freakin-credible mate.
