I'm in the market for a DVD Player and was thinking of getting one of those DVD Recorders. Was just wondering, if I want to transfer my old home movies from my video tapes to DVD-R, do I just need to plug the video to the DVD-R Player, play the Video and record it all onto a blank DVD? I'm afraid I'm a real noob on this subject.

i would assume both your VCR and DVD recorder is hooked up to the telly. you can probably play the VHS and let the recorder do it's work..

but this is new technology to me... could be wrong..

there's two types of dvd recorders, one with HDD & the other is w/o HDD. the former one allow u to edit your video before burning it to the DVDR while the later only can burn directly to the DVDR. :silenced:

But is it just a case of hooking the video up to the DVD-Recorder, pressing play on the Video and Record on the DVD-Recorder or is it a bit more complicated than that?

I have not tried it, but it should be as simple as that.
