    Hi guys,

Want to ask some opinion on compressing videos.
Basically making a video out of screen shots. Not my work but I'm helping it out.

I want to know what compression should I use that is compatible on basic windows XP machines without requiring additional codec.

I tried a few codecs, I don't have MPEG codec installed i think

Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Movie Maker has only 2 aspect rations 4:3 or 16:9

    With Virtualdub, I tried:
indeo (IV50), but the compression isnt good enough.
WMV9 (WMV3), but it only comes with WMP11.

Finally I use the MS MPEG4 (MP42) codec which is compatible with clean windows XP.

Had to hunt the MPEG4 codec somewhere else. :wall: IF only I have found it earlier.
