Microsoft is gonna launch there new os codename Vista LongHorn here are a couple of screen shots how many of u actually like the new os?? here are the hardware requirements: Intended for mainstream and high-end graphics cards. 64 MB of graphics memory recommended, 128 MB for 1600x1200+. At least 32 bits per pixel. 3D hardware acceleration with capabilities equal to DirectX 9.0c. A memory bandwidth of 2 GB/s, and as much 8 GB/s can be supported. Capable of drawing ~1.5 M triangles / second, one window being ~150 triangles. A graphics card that uses AGP 8X or PCI Express 16X 8-lane bus. Windows Vista Display Driver Model (WVDDM) Drivers. 250
your screenshots don't really show much... but i've seen some of the videos of the developers showing it off and also talking about how things work inside the new vista... so far i like it... never tried it... but i like what i see...
it looks good, i'll give it that. but do we really need it? i hate to have to upgrade again just to be able to play games on that OS... i'll stay XP for a bit longer thankyouverymuch.
Have you guys heard? Microsoft is making directX10 not backwards reversible with other direct x versions. This mean that your new dual 7800gtx's will have to poorly emulate the game and get not so good in quality. New graphiocs cards are going to have to be made to support this new product. Ive also heard that windows vista is just some new fancy GUI scripts.
Ya, lol! It's all got to be emulated, just like the 360 has to emulate the original XBox system, and I own one! The emulation has some major problems... I don't think "Vista" will be worth it for most people.
LOL! This OS will tax your computer like dunno what... and it's not that simple to have the aeroglass effect. Has something to do with the OS grading your system specs before deciding one whether to let you have the aeroglass or not. I'm under the NDA, so not going to tell much.
Heh... so our dear dashky has been testing out Vista eh? Anyhow, personally, I think regardless whether or not anyone's gonna be able to run Vista, it's a good step ahead. It's about time an OS get a major facelift/makeover/complete rebuild. As for DX10.. it's not going to arrive that soon.... at least I doubt so. Don't make much sense for it to be released now other than a marketing ploy to make us upgrade to new cards.
feels like vista is going backward rather than forward.. munching more processor / memory rather than lessening them. just have to see if the functionality justify all that. i say remove all these themes and give us a bare system and let the users decide what to install to pretty-fy our own system.
