My wife's staying in KL for a bit, and I'm wondering whether to ask her to bring back some bits and pieces for Christmas pressies One of the lads could do with some backup, and I'm wondering if a few large capacity USB sticks might be a good idea - small and light. Are the large capacity sticks reliable? Or is it better to get a slimline external USB HDD, say 500GB? (Not SATA, I think his system is a bit old). What sort of price do you guys pay in KL for memory sticks, say, 64GB? And for a 500GB slimline USB HDD?
I don't think you can get a 64 GB flash drive here, but you can get a 32 GB flash drive (Kingston) for about RM 165 (US$ 53). The best bang for your buck would be a 2.5" portable hard disk drive. Here are the rough price : - 500 GB = about RM 180-200 (US$ 58-65) - 640 GB = about RM 250 (US$ 81) - 750 GB = about RM 320 (US$ 103) - 1 TB = about RM 390 (US$ 126)
