Continental cars are a totally different breed la.. with a totally different price range. Take the Volkswagen Passat CC, for example. Great value for money for a continental car but it's RM 245,000 (US$ 81,666). That's a hundred K (US$ 33K) more than the Hyundai Sonata! But if you ask me... if you just compare quality and features alone, the Korean cars win hands down. Look at the crappy features and build quality in the current Toyota and Honda cars. Add their lower price to boot, you have to wonder why people even bother to buy Toyota or Honda.
Seriously, that depends on what features you are looking at. For me, VW Golf 1.4 is what I'm fairly interested in. Good built quality, excellent engine (1.4 with 160ps with 240nm) which has more torque than a Sonata, 7 speed DSG gearbox, pretty good sound proofing, 5 years warranty, excellent fuel economy, cheaper road tax. Still a bit too expensive for me though. So I may get a second hand GTI instead.
That's a good VW model too. I would consider that as a second car if I have a good family sedan. Volkswagen really produces some great cars.
