Other than mirrors, you can recycle CDs into coasters, small cups (microwave it) or even clocks! Nowadays they are too cheap until they could be ended up like a part of household items!!
Yeah, better than throwing them away... I used to use them as coasters but the central hole leak water, making them kinda pointless as coasters. Plus, they cannot really stand high temperatures too well.
