I am starting to look into wide angle lenses for my old Canon 300D. I want to take "whole sky" pics to capture upcoming meteor showers. I just took a glance at Sigma's offerings and they are $1000USD + Any insight as what to look for? The 18-55mm that came with the cam (1.6X crop factor) just isn't wide enough.
could look up tokina 11-16 or a canon 10-22. they are not fish eye i think. Yes, i couldn't get any meteor shots on 18-55, it isn't wide enough .. LOL
Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 is a good choice. I loved that lens before I upgrade to full frame. Excellent lens and its quite affordable. Don't get confused with the f3.5 version.
Ended up ordering the Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 that Chai recommended. I will invest the savings from not getting the Canon on one of THESE to take on our upcoming trip in September. Meteor shower comes first, August 11-13th.
