    Hey guys,

Wondering if any of you have experience the same problem.

    I just updated to Windows 7 SP1.
I used remote desktop before and after SP1.

    Problem:

After remotely logging in without problem, logging on to the PC physically was a failure....

Login screen resolution is at like 800x600 or 640x480. Logging in kicks me back to the login screen.

But I can remotely access it using Remote Desktop without problem.

Was it after you hibernate? It is a known problem after hibernation.

What I would normally do is click Switch User. Then it will refresh and show my account as Locked. That's when the login would work.

What version of OS and RDP are you using from your desktop?

Windows 7 64-bit on both my laptop and desktop.

    RDP should be 6.1

My desktop never hibernates. I happens right after I use remote desktop. Now every time I want to login, I have to restart. :faint:

I can''t switch user, there's no button and I'm the only user.

Hmm.. That's very odd. Could be a new bug introduced by SP1.

Well, I'm also the only user of my computer and yet after hibernating, I cannot login. It will say that there's a problem with the password. However, there's a switch user option which would show my same account, just Locked, instead of Logged On.

I think its graphic cards related...

I connect to my quadro and rebooted... No problem so far after 2 attempts of remote desktop.

When I connect back to my geforce, I get that problem.

Have you tried upgrading your graphics card driver?

If you are already using the latest WHQL-certified driver, you can try a newer Beta driver, or an older WHQL driver.

I also tried, booting up with Geforce, then Remote desktop. Got the low res login screen. Switch to the Quadro, login screen is fine, but I still cant login.

The only solution is to use Quadro from boot up.

I have no idea what driver am I using  I only know its through Windows Update.

258.96 I think. Going to try 266.58 from nvidia site

Wow... And it happened right after updating to SP1??

BTW, did you remove the driver before updating?

    Yeah after SP1 :wall:

I selected clean install from the Nvidia thing.

Maybe I should check the wiring in my pc. Maybe something got loose by coincidence.

At least yours works. I can't even install Sp1 and it's Graphic Driver related (driver sweeper)

I wonder if its necessary to install SP1 at all. if your pc is already running smoothly.... i didn't!

It's not "necessary" right now. Most of the updates have already been released prior to SP1, so if you have been keeping your installation updated, you should have almost all of the critical updates.

But eventually you will need to install it because future updates will require SP1 to be installed first.

Well did a driver sweep before. Keeps giving me error :wall: in the end, decided to reformat and Sp1 is installed successfully :thumb:
