    Hi All,
I'm facing a problem here. This case happen to my computer a few times ago. It happen like this:

    Switch On computer,
Acer logo appears 1st on the screen,
Screen goes black out for the 1st 10 minutes or more,
A grey coloured bar appear at the bottom of the screen (It's like a % bar),
Waited for 30 minutes or more,
    Once % bar reach 50%,
    Windows starts...

What i did before is that i uninstall Limewire on my comp and defrag it.. and then restart...

What i did this morning is i uninstall LimeWire but not UTorrent (I start to use UT few weeks ago)...

    Hello SkylineRemix,

It would be helpful if you can tell us what your system specifications are.

BTW, it could be Windows XP looking for the network. Try removing the LAN cable during boot up and see if it helps.

Yup, that's what I would recommend too. I'm really thinking network right now.

    hyper_raider shutdown -h now

Oh try to see if you have any network drive / network printers mapped that isnt there anymore cos windows can spend forever looking for the drive and not be there, hence slowing down the bootup process

I've just reread your post. I think there's something wrong with the notebook. Probably HDD going to die. Getting stuck at the POST screen.

If it's the HDD, you can replace the HDD by yourself. You have to make sure it's HDD problem. I can't really diagnose from here.

You can always check the hard drive by running a scan using Scandisk.
