    after a bit more tweaking and putting another fan on the H50 to help it with temps i am stable at these settings
    tried 4.1 and it crashed .. maybe i'm still a noob when it comes to O/Cing

    Need help !

    I have two notebooks on hand which are based on AMD CPU and the benchmark fail at each time.
    The first one is an Acer with an AMD Athlon II Neo K325 and the second one is a Sony VAIO based on Athlon II P320.

    Both of them are using Win 7 x64 French (with the last update), UAC is disabled, AVIsynth is installed.

    Sympthom : I can launch the benchmark, create the file .rtf file, but then x264.exe crashes everytime.

    I try every workaround that i find on your website but nothing works. Is a known issue ?

    That's certainly very odd, as many of us are using Windows 7 x64 and have no problem running the benchmark. What error message do you get?

    Can you try opening a command prompt and run x264.exe itself? See if it runs.

    Ahh...I used to have the same problem.

    When you key in the CPU multiplier and FSB speed, what did you type in? File names do not accept special characters like *

    I tried several times, but it won't slow down :haha: :nuts: :wall:
    BTW TurboCore is still enabled, so depends on the number of threads used it speeds up to 3.8Ghz.

    load first pass is ~70%
    load second pass is ~99%
    on top of this the cpu is undervolted :whistle:
    An interesting comparison would be your bench with a full hd file in 1080p

    No. The first pass not only depends on rough core speed unlike the second.
    I always build very low latency systems :whistle:
    (watch the memory settings) and it runs from an SSD.

    Hmm.. That's really interesting. Are all six cores running at full load during the tests (Pass 1 and Pass 2)?

    Hmm.. I really can't figure it out. Unless the storage speed really affects the performance of the encoder that much. :think:

    I'm not sure if memory timing or SSD is going to make that much difference.

    My i7 870 overclocked to 3.8GHz cannot even match that, even after factoring the additional 2 cores, and Intel is known to be much faster per clock.
