I have a Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition (stock) but my results are lower than the 955 on the list. Is it a memory limitation or..?
incorrect test results? Adrian: Thanks for test, it really helps me to fine tune my machine for x264 video encoding. I just looked at the result and I think there is an error in the test report. A couple of records reporting tripple channel memory, but I don't think that is possible since the CPU on those record only support dual channel (i.e. the i7-2600k). X
Thanks for the results, brainstormer2010! @chidragon : It is possible. If you check the specs in the table below the charts, you will see that that AMD Phenom II X4 955 system was using DDR3-1333 memory.

I'll also post a 4.0 benchmark to the correct thread but I just wanted to compare apples to apples with my previous results. I had to replace the motherboard, so I upgraded to 8GB DDR3 from 4GB DDR2. (I also replaced the stock CPU cooler with one that doesn't get ridiculously loud whenever I encode something, but that should only affect temps since I'm still not OCing) Rest of the system is identical. Pass 1 is about 5 fps faster while Pass 2 is only around .7 fps faster.
