All X58 motherboards do NOT support SLI. They only have native support for CrossFire. Actually, SLI compatibility comes in two forms - either a hardware chip like nForce 200 SLI processor, or a simple BIOS string that enables SLI functionality through the graphics driver. Basically, it's all about the money. NVIDIA intentionally disabled SLI support through the driver. If you, the motherboard manufacturer, want to add SLI support, then pay us a license fee for each motherboard (for the SLI BIOS string) or buy the nForce 200 SLI processor for your motherboad.
