Here are my scores with a Forsa 9600GT, Asus 3870 and Asus 3870 TOP with Glaciator cooling. Testbed: Asus P5B Deluxe - Bios 1226 Intel Q6600 Stock 4GB DDR2 - Kingston@667 2xSamsung Spinpoint 320GB XP Pro 32bit + SP2 3Dmark 06 Professional 1.1.0 174.74 geforce drivers 8.3 Catalyst drivers Results: 9600GT - 1280x1024x32 = 10596 points (default driver settings) - 1280x1024x32 = 9512 points (High Quality) - 1024x768x32 = 11451 points (default driver settings) - 1024x768x32 = 10691 points (High Quality) Asus 3870 Top - 1280x1024x32 = 11195 points (default driver settings) - 1280x1024x32 = 9410 points (High Quality) Asus 3870 - 1280x1024x32 = 10885 points (default driver settings) - 1024x768x32 = 11773 points (default driver settings) Both 3870 have Glaciator cooling, much better cooling than the reference one. Also the cards were pretty silent! Not the same thing I can say about the 9600GT which was pretty loud under full load. I can say without any doubt that the price will make the difference.
my rams? 4x1GB Corsair Value ram. Frame rate is ok..Typo earlier..Just the marks are pretty low for some reason =/
OK wasn't sure if you might be running less than 4G I am sure thats the reason X64 is running faster than XP for me at the moment
What I can see from 9600gt benchmarks around the web is that the 9 series have superior performance when anti aliasing is turned on compared to HD3780 without AA. Do you have any trials with AF?
When I stated HQ, well, I was using 16xAF in all the tests but AA was left on Application-controlled. To be honest I don't care too much about AA as playing on higher resolutions usually provides a better image quality.
Whoopsie it was you I asked Lacus responded lol .. its old age on my part Anyhew Bro as I said in the previous quote if your not using 4G+ RAM then your not going to see a huge difference between XP and Vista X64.
Hi All TechARP members, I would like to buy nvidia 9600GT, I think this is a nice card for my PC. My system spec as follow: AMD 64 X2 4400+ KINGSTONS DD2 PC-5300 2 X 1 GB BIOSTAR TA690G MOTHERBOARD PIONER DVD-RW SATA 250GB SATA HARDDRIVE SEAGATE PSU 400W POWER LOGIC I am need your recomendation, does my PSU need to be upgraded ? if yes, could you mention which PSU best to my system and what brand for 9600GT card ? Thank's all
Well, should be more than enough LOL, I got myself confused too...haha... Now was thinking should i go Vista X64 =/ Drivers should be kinda hard to get eh?
Actually the NV Vista 64 bit driver is working quite well here no issues so far and haven't had issues with anything else so far. Just watch older hardware with Vista
Still kind of new to Vista Chai and haven't really had a chance to install many games or programs aside from the ones I use regularly yet. Are there any particular programs or hardware drivers you have had issues with really curious to know just for knowledge sake
Hardware issue, no, other than EMU0404 drivers which crashes when I remote desktop. I'm very new to Vista and 64bit too. Many old software don't work, Partition Magic, Nero 6, Dreamweaver MX, no 64bit Nikon RAW plugin. I haven't installed games yet.
Not really sure. 400W would be enough (I think), but I'm not sure if Power Logic PSU's are reliable. It's best if you upgrade it for the card and future usage.
Hmm.. I thought Partition Magic and Nero 6 wouldn't work with Vista-32 either? I'm using updated versions of Nero and Dreamweaver, albeit with Vista 32.
400w should be more than enough. But if i'm not mistaken, power logic psu are not true power. it depends though. I myself might might 3870(coz 10.1) over 9600gt (10.0) for future usage. 9600gt is a midrange card so i think it does not need higher power?
