    ASUS p5be plus ; after a power failure none of the usb ports works anymore ;

    it's a black , cubic component near the cpu area that has been damaged ...

    is it normal that the store/service which sold me the mobo ask for money to repair my motherboard ?

    mobo has 3 years warranty.

    ???

    If it is still covered under warranty, they should at least RMA it for you for FREE. However, I'm not sure if it's covered under the warranty if the damage is obvious... :think:

    If there's no psycial damage or any obvious burnt marks, you should be able to get a free replacement.
