hi guy, just wondering what should i get. my budget is from $50-75. The lower the better of course. right now i'm thinking of a 9600GT, i may try to hunt for a ATI 4830 if it drops to $75. just need something decent, was wondering it 9600GT is worth the money, or else i can always hop for a lower end graphic card. ok, here are a list if "deals" i found so far. 9800GT ~$75 after rebate 9600GT ~$60 recertified.. 9600GSO 512MB ~$45 after rebate here is current system specs. E4500 2.2ghz evga 680i 4 gb ram 430W PSU <--------------------------
problem is that cant find any good deals on ATi cards at the moment :\ the last good deal on a 4830 was $75 after rebate last week..
I am using this card, Gainward 9600GT Golden Sample, well it works well in most of the games, except when it comes to games like Crysis. But right now that I'm studying, I don't even have time to play any games, so good card is being used to run AERO only LOL
i bought a PNY 9800GT Efficient Edition. comes with WOW + 3D glasses for free. after rebate will cost me $65 :\ cant find any good deals on ati 4830.
depending on what CAD application and usage, you might want to consider the lowest available Quadro. anyway HD4830's closest nVidia match is 9800GT. i'm using the Galaxy 9600GT now.
Quadro is too expensive to tell you the true, i do now know what is the true advantage of using Quadro for CAD. I do know most CAD machines uses it, but all i need is some 3D capabilities
oh, i have the document. but use what you can la, last time my Sis in law i setup the computer using GF2MX only the fella can use with so many of her CAD stuff (doing ID course).
nah, Quadro is only needed when you are working, not studying i was reading around, Quadro renders every detail or something like that, more for "precision" & "accuracy".
LOL!! No need for SLI unless you are already using the fastest available single card and it's not as fast as you like.
the motherboard i'm gonna run is a SLI motherboard more like tri-SLI... i don't even know whats tri SLI yet. got to read it up when i'm free.
Triple SLI merely means you are hooking up three NVIDIA graphics cards for extra processing power. It's just like SLI, only of the menage a trois variety. However, there's not much value in SLI-ing low or middle range cards. It's cheaper and better to get a single high-end card. SLI is only useful if the single high-end card isn't fast enough.
so far the only card that I've ever felt tempted to SLI is the 9600GT. specifically now, the 9600GT lowpower lowprofile. i think if one has SLI board, then SLI could be considered but must consider the TDP. for example, a GTX295 would be having about 290w TDP but to SLI GTX275 would take nearly 400w and SLI GTX260 takes around 360w.
