I'm trying to write an article about Open Source Software now.Anybody could tell me your favorite open source software
I would choose a few that I use a lot: Open.office.org Pidgin Firefox Infrarecorder 7-zip VLC Scribus
There are a few "free" AVs (my fav so far is Microsoft Security Essentials - free for legit copies of xp, vista, and 7) out there but they're usually closed source. The only open source AV I know is ClamAV (put that on that list ).
Check out Media Player Classic Home Cinema as SicKlown42012 posted. Media Player Classic - Home Cinema - Video Player
Oh, sorry, I was referring to the latest Home Cinema version. I'm using it already, as part of the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.
all my favourite. can't live without them! media player classic firefox 7zip truecrypt virtualbox jstock winscp putty notepad++
Itls a UNIX emulator if sorts. I use it for handling LARGE amounts of data, and it's got plenty of GNU add ons!
I'm running Linux Mint now as my primary notebook OS so almost all s/w are open source! Hmm favs would be - VirtualBox - Thunderbird - Chrome (Chromium) - Pidgin - Ubuntu (which Mint is based on)
