Thinking of getting an ASUS P6X58D Premium. ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Want to get some OCing action going... I forsee myself ordering parts rather soon (catching up on WCing upgrades I'll be needing).
As I just discovered... LOL! Well looks like I'll have a complete loop to sell soon (old swiftech 3.120 Rad, old pump, and soon my Fuzion LOL). I'm gonna keep the thermochill PA120.3 CPU only for this build...
Yeah I'm keeping this one. I have an old DDC with the Petra top (I'm either gonna sell or use on a GPU loop lol).
Ok ordered new PC parts. Now to hunt down the Apogee XT! Jab-Tech and Petra's Tech Shop are both out of stock...
Make sure you get a D0 core! Not sure about that particular ASUS motherboard, but I'm using the P6T Deluxe and it's pretty good.
Yup! 6GB of DDR3 1600 too (and a 5850)! Hopefully it'll be a D0. I'd be MIGHTY surprised if it wasn't (since its been a while since they were released into the channel). This will be my first "X" class mobo chipset that I've bought (I've always stuck with "mid-range" in the past). It's good to see that mobo prices have gone down a tad (paying the same for this higher end X58 for the same price I paid 2 years ago for my P5K Premium).
Check the table here - Tech ARP - Intel Core i7 D0 Core Performance Advantage Revealed Rev. 2.0 Some SKUs will remain C0 core, e.g. Core i7-965 EE and Core i7-940.
haha. Half of the stuff has already shipped. Motherboard got backordered though... I guess it was really popular that day...
BAI BAI BAI BAI BAI! My XFX 5850 is sitting on my desk... As well as my OCZ 3x2GB PC3 12800 RAM! (8-8-8-something lol) my 1337 mobo is still backordered (and holding up the CPU and PS3 hdd)...
