Found this info on anther site and thought some of you might be interested. http://lly316.blogspot.com/2008/05/how-to-softmod-9600gso-into-8800gts.html Apparently the Galaxy 9600GSO Overclocked Edition comes with 512mb instead of 384mb and can be soft modded to become an 8800GTS.
missing ddr and locked pipelines so it would not push you from 384 to 512 ddr only if that firm have renamed 8800GTS to 9600GSO
it does actually but not sold yet right? I think..I wonder will it albe to perform just like a 8800gts?
I just read somewhere that these Galaxy cards are basicaly 8800GTS. Galaxy had problems selling them so downgraded them to 9600GSO. Something like that, and I'm not sure how legit this is.
I haven't heard about anyone else modding one so I'm wonder how many of these card actually exist. The Galaxy 9600GSO cards are available but I haven't seen the Overclocked Editions anywhere yet.
Like the person in the guide says. If the memory is populated with 8 memory chips and not just 6, I would think it possible to do it on those also. I haven't seen KFA2 (Galaxy brand in the US) release one yet. If i can get my hands on one I do intend to try this out.
