just bought a new laptop. the specs says it's running on intel GMA X3100 but when i check the system properties it says GM965.

Are GM965 and x3100 the same? or have i been cheated?

Actually, GM965 is the chipset while the X3100 is GM965's integrated graphics. So, no, you have not been cheated.

Well, technically it's the same lar ==" You never did got cheat o_o" 965 if i not mistaken is the mobo's model and also the chipset while X3100 is the name given for the new integrate gpu.

The chipset is GM965. The integrated GPU is called X3100. The motherboard model is another thing altogether.
