I made my friend the server and put in the right IP Address he never started lancraft then clicked start warcraft we both have 1.05 already went to LAN and start game but cannot see each other
LOL! I think I know what's your problem cause this is something I always forgot! Okay... first of all, only "clients" need to use Lancraft. The host shouldn't use lancraft. But he/she must go in to WC3 options and set the port to 6112! The default port is 6110. That's why you cannot connect... Note that lancraft is VERY buggy... You will need to kill lancraft and restart it quite often. You cannot just close it or Alt-F4 it. You will need to go to the Process list in Task Manager, search out lancraft.exe and kill it.
That's correct! But very odd, how come it doesn't work. Do you have firewall or some sort? Make sure the server has set the port to 6112 in the WC3 game's option menu.
I'm using ZoneAlarm too. It's not a problem. What about your friend? Is he using any firewall? Like, perhaps, the WinXP firewall? You might want to try restarting lancraft... It's buggy.
is the server running behind a router? if so, the router needs to be set to forward the 6112 port to the warcraft server... anyway... 6110 or 6112.. it's ok as long as everyone uses the same port no... u can set the port no in lancraft mah.
That's right. Any port will do... but since lancraft defaults to 6112, it's easier to get the host to change the port once to 6112 instead of everyone changing it.
This make ppl won change the port... this make more stuff to set... Y they want to set it to 6112?? It is better than other port for this game???
