Oh, sorry, been busy with her "activities", I haven't had the time to update you guys. :wall:

She has recently stopped her physiotherapy. Nothing much they can do for her. She just have to get more exercise at the gym.

She's now going for more speech therapy. Improving quite a bit in that aspect. Hopefully, she will be ready to work within a year. Otherwise, they may medically board her out, and that's it... She becomes an MRS... :(

I took her to see her neurophysiology specialist last month. Unfortunately, the results remained the same - there was zero nerve conduction in her left foot. So, her left foot is more or less permanently disabled, and the pain could possibly be lifelong...

In the coming months, we are arranging for a spinal MRI, just to see if there's any nerve impingement. And a repeat angiogram to see how her AVM and aneurysm is doing.

Good news is that she recently went for her first movies since her accident. Chai and Strawroot were there too. :thumb: And she was well enough to attend their wedding too! :thumb:

Eh, please...I'm always in the forum... :p

Jenny has recovered remarkably well, I will never forget the moment I saw her when she was still in ICU. I never dare to ask how was her progress everytime I go to your house. And I was pleasantly surprised how she started walking, recognising us etc.

Well, a complete recovery is not possible but we are thankful she has progressed so much.

She has regained her upper body strength, but her legs are still pretty weak. They have improved quite a bit since she left the ICU but her foot drop is more or less permanent.

She has also dropped a lot of weight. I think she was 48 kg when she was admitted. She left with a weight of about 42 kg, and despite eating pretty well, she actually lost 1 kg to hit 41 kg the last we checked.

Still, it's good that she has finally gone to a movie... and a wedding. ;)

    Day 211

A miracle happened today - Jenny suddenly managed to move two of her toes. Very slightly and only horizontally (not against gravity), but they moved!!!

Just a few weeks ago, I took her for another check with her neurophysiologist and her power was still ZERO, zilch. There was absolutely no movement because no signals were getting through. But today, she moved two of them!

I just rechecked a few minutes ago, and yes, they were obviously moving. I could even feel a little strength in the movements. This is great news indeed since the power in her left foot had been zero since she woke up.

Oh, she can walk. It's just that with a "dead" foot, you get a foot drop. The foot is always drooping. That makes it difficult to walk normally. She's using an ankle brace right now but it only partially lifts her foot.

Well, it's still a long way to actually moving her foot. Right now, only her big toe moves by a significant amount (a few mm), the second toe less so. It could even be that she's just moving the big toe and the second toe is moving in tandem. And the big toe can only move horizontally, not against gravity.

Still, it's better than ZERO power all these months. Hopefully, she will regain at least the ability to lift her foot. That will allow her to walk normally. If her toes can't move much, that's really okay. The key thing is the ankle.

Hehe.. I think we should!!!

She's a little more proactive after that discovery, actually staying up to work a little on her speech therapy. She should also be joining us for the Prince Of Persia movie this Tuesday.
