Hmm.. Never checked the notebook out but the memory slot access panel should be located at the bottom of the notebook.

Most notebook manufacturers allow you to change / upgrade your memory modules yourself.

opppss, my bad. ddr should be 2.5V and ddr2 is 1.8V.

btw yorker, i believe sisoft sandra is capable of checking ur laptop ram slot :)

all the laptops i've played with have access to the RAM from the bottom ..

some have two slots some have one at the bottom ...

those with only one slot at the bottom will usually have another beneath the keyboard... :p

Ermm... cpuz, etc can check how many slots are used up but can they check how many slots available? I don't think so.

thanks for the pic champion..ur 1gb is laptop?

means...dell has a same laptop same specs like mine...but its memory is a ddr2 unlike mine...which runs on ddr..

i called FTEC, they say it'll void warranty and all their laptops use 1x512 ...

all the depends on the manufacturer...
if they use the chipset which supports DDR .. they use DDR..
if they use newer chipsets which supports DDR2 .. then they can use DDR2 :)

You don't need to call FTEC to upgrade your RAM. You can do that by yourself.

Just find out if it's 256MB x 2 or 512MB x 1. If it's a single 512MB piece, then all you need to do is buy another 512MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM SO-DIMM and slot it in.

Adrian, won't doing that void the warranty?

if there's no sticker or some warrenty seal that u must break when upgrading, den go ahead n upgrade it urself...

when laptop needs servicing, put the original components back, they cant tell wad's once in there =P
