Hi I am thinking aobut going PCI-E maybe early next year and was wondering what everyone's opinions are. I have 4 choices that I can't decide on. Basically I wanna be able to overclock to what I can basically do now which is atleast 2.4GHz using my 3000+ Abit AN8 Ultra http://www.pccanada.com/viewitem.asp?id=3592 Asus A8N-E http://www.pccanada.com/viewitem.asp?id=3197 DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D http://www.pccanada.com/viewitem.asp?id=3369 MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum http://www.pccanada.com/viewitem.asp?id=2542 I know everyone will choose the DFI but I heard you need a 24-pin PSU but I only have a 20-pin and don't wanna buy a new PSU. I was thinking of getting the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum since I have a MSI K8N Neo2 plat and love it. Its either that or teh Abit AN8 Ultra because it has the heatpipe cooling the northbridge. I think I remember Papercut has one. How is it? Also do a necessarily need a 24-pis PSU? I heard not every board need it or will a 20-to-24-pin connector work? Also would I have any conflicts with my Patriot XBLs?
I was considering the ABITAN8 since I heard the quite a bit of chipset fans on the NF4 die unless I am wrong. Oh crap I forgot I mention I might have to go with the ASUS A8N-E or MSI Neo4 as I need a parallel port for my old printer. Yeah I know I should get a new USB printer my BJ-100 works just fine
The missing Parrallel Port in the DFI NF4 is not a big problem. You can always buy a USB to LPT adapter for less than $15.
