bios settings .. always play with them .. ... i'm using award bios... goto Power Management Setup .. or some thing like that .... not sure bout AMI bios ... find something that has to do with System After AC Back change the value to Soft-Off
Hmm... Check your BIOS for the ACPI Function (not APIC). It should be enabled. If it's disabled, then you have probably installed Windows XP without ACPI support. In that case, your auto-shutdown won't work. If that's the case, you will have to enable ACPI in the BIOS (you should enable APIC too!) and reinstall Windows XP. Yes, you have to reinstall Windows XP to get back your ACPI support. However, there's no need to worry... Just boot up the installation CD, choose Install (instead of Recovery Console) and then the Windows XP installer will search for and find your Windows XP installation. Now, do NOT install a new copy of Windows XP. Just ask the installer to repair the installation. Let it run and then once it's done, you will be able to boot exactly as before, with your settings retained. Hope that helps you some!
the ACPI function is enable, so i´m going to install the windows XP again, when i´m done with it i wil reply to the forum, thank you very much. I`m grateful with all the people that responde my S.O.S message.
