Yet another one about the likes of the RIIA and MPAA From: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060817/tc_nm/media_dvds_newspapers_dc Basically, a bunch of British Newspapers/Magazines paid Hollywoord for distribution rights in the UK for a bunch of films which are nearing the end of their profit cycle. They then gave away those DVDs with certain issues of their newspaper or magazine. Guess what? Despite being paid for it, Hollywood's there grumbling about it, blaming them for causing declining sales in DVDs.
I mean if it is given away, how can they regard that as lost sales. Just coz they received it, it doesn't mean they would want it. Heck, I got this one DVD for free when I bought a DVD but guess what? It's still in the plastic wrap eventhough I got it six months ago...
ROTFL!! That's hilarious... If they sign off on those rights, how can they complain if the distributors do what they want with the films? After all, they are getting paid for it. Besides, those films are so old... How many times do you want to watch them anyway?
