Silent PC Setup

    Replaced with an Evercool high speed fan.

    I'm planning on plugging the fan directly to my motherboard though, then set the fan speed so that it pushes the same CFM as the old fan used to :)

    No worries, I've opened a few power supplies in the past and I was extra careful :thumb:

    I have not found the need yet to replace my PSU fan :)

    When you'll want a silent computer, you'll find a reason to replace it :thumb:

    That is not entirely advisable because PSU generates more heat when it's at load, I don't think you have time to keep monitoring on that.

    My Earthwatts 380W never hikes up its fan speed though, even when running some benchmarks. I bet my system is pulling less than 130W :think:

    Judging by your specs, maybe less than 180W. That could be possible.

    My system is really quiet now after the PSU fan swap. The next loudest items are actually the 3 low speed 120mm fans cooling the radiator. If I drop the voltage to 5V, I think it's almost silent, even if your ear is next to the casing. :mrgreen:
