@adrian: it's not geared toward any particular content use cases and is definitely not a CMS for blog. they have moved pass it since v3.0. it's very very versatile. wordpress is extremely close to being the 10/10 framework for content guys (of course it's lacking in restful api/services/json side of things but how many small/medium guys are building spa?), if we can remove the mindset of "there is a plugin for xxx". you can init the wp_query class as many times as you wish to get your content, on any part of a page. if you have not, you can explore the custom post type too. always stay close to the WP core btw, Dance to Calypso the admin dashboard is heading toward spa!
yup! the playground for javascript developers! you pack everything in a single container. load once, or load on demand. everything else is via restful calls. super modern, super fun (as usual, 9-5 management will not care, so run your own startup! )
